Building Dedication and
Memorial Day Observance
May 29th, 2006

Of the many events that the Corps is planning during this season, there are few that were as anticipated as the dedication of the new Corps headquarters. The dedication of the new building is a major milestone in the history of Corps and will allow the organization to grow significantly in the years to come.

The building, which was constructed entirely from donations from the community, is more than 5 times larger than the National Park Service building where the Corps was formerly housed. The 4000 square foot structure is a monument to the spirit of this community and its resolve to work together to solve difficult problems.

The event was officiated by His Holiness, The Reverend Gary Erdos and in addition to the dignataries which included Congresswoman Joann Davis, Superintendent Dan Smith, Supervisor Walt Zaremba, Supervisor Sheila Noll, DAR State Regent Pat Mayer, Superintendent Alec Gould, and Uncle Sam, the ribbon on the Corps headquarters was cut by the oldest members of our distinctive Senior Corps.

The Corps wishes to express our gratitude to everyone who's generosity and dedication helped to make this day - and this building - possible.

Prior to the Building Dedication, the Corps participated in the York County Memorial Day Observance at York Hall.

At the close of the day, after our members had their fill of hotdogs and cake, we travelled down to the waterfront to perform for the opening of the Atlantic Fleet Wind Ensemble. After completing the performance, our musicians went their separate ways to enjoy a well needed rest...
