Fifes and Drums of York Town - Deep River Ancient Muster
Deep River Ancient Muster
July 13th-16th, 2006
Along the winding road to Deep River, the Corps stopped off in Boston to
deliver their Field Show for visitors to Faneuil Hall. Although the
performance space was tight, the Corps marching program was executed with
precision and the audience was treated to an extremely close view of both
our drum solo and chained fife performance.
Perhaps the longest parade that we particpate in during the year, the Deep River
Muster Parade spans the entire length of the town and typically features nearly 100
Corps.
The Fifes and Drums of York Town had the opportunity to watch almost all of the other
Corps step-off before we took the street in position 62.
Following the parade Marilyn Malcarne and the Deep River Junior Ancients treated
our Corps to lunch at the Stone House... We want to extend a special thanks to our most
gracious hosts and say that we look forward to their visit in October to celebrate the
225th anniversary of the Surrender of Yorktown.
Although the Corps performed late in the day, they were once again able to get the crowd
on their feet with a rousing performance. During the course of the weekend, The Fifes
and Drums of York Town presented their 2006 field at both the Deep River Junior Ancient's
Evening Tattoo and during the muster performances.
Of course, one of the greatest things about the Corps' Summer Trip is taking
the time to relax and enjoy ourselves. Our members, instructors and
chaperones made the most of every stop along the trip and made every moment
memorable.
