Fifes and Drums of York Town - Deep River Ancient Muster
Deep River Ancient Muster
July 19 - 22nd, 2007
Once again, the Fifes and Drums of York Town undertook the long journey to
Deep River, CT and the Deep River Ancient Muster held therein. We'd like to start
by thanking our generous hosts, the Deep River Junior Ancients who treated
us like family (in the good way) all weekend.
The Corps would also like to thank John and Terri Gordon who arranged the
trip this year. Even though this was their first year as Travel Coordinators, they put
together a seamless plan and the entire trip ran as smooth as silk.
Our first point of interest along the trip was Mystic Seaport. The Corps presented a noon performance
for visitors to the site before taking some time to soak in the scenery.

The Deep River Ancient Muster parade is always a spectacle that is full of great performances, cannon fire and
unexpected occurances around every corner. This year's parade had more than 60 marching units of all shapes
and sizes and culminated with all of the musicians arriving at Devitt Field for the afternoon on-stand performances.
The Corps delivered the final presentation of their 2007 Field Exhibition to the crowds at Devitt's Field.
Although the light was beginning to fade on the evening of the Tattoo, the crowd's enthusiasm was as bright as ever
and the Fifes and Drums of York Town delivered a most memorable performance.
Of course, the most important part of the Corps' annual trip is the fun and frivolity that happens along the way...
