Independence Day
July 4, 2012

On a balmy Wednesday morning in July, the Fifes and Drums of York Town donned their red wool regimentals and paraded down Water Street in Yorktown, Virginia. Many other celebrants joined us at the historic site to mark our nation's Independence. The York River beach was an absolutely gorgeous setting for the festivities. The Corps stopped and played in front of a grandstand filled with VIPs, including veterans and soldiers home from the Middle East, making everyone present feel even more proud to be an American. After the parade, the Corps practiced their field show while still in full uniform to prepare for their upcoming summer trip and then celebrated the graduation of four seniors with amazing cakes back at headquarters.
