York Town Tea Party
October 4, 2009

The year 2009 marks the 235th Anniversary of the York Town Tea Party. On November 4, 1774, Thomas Nelson, Jr. threw tea that had arrived in the Port of York into the York River. Similar actions happened all along the coast in support of the people of Boston who were struggling due to the British blockade of Boston Harbor. Senior members of the Fifes and Drums of York Town performed at the reenactment of this historical event at the Watermen's Museum on October 4th.
