Yorktown Day 2007
October 19th, 2007

While Yorktown Day 2007 may have lacked some of the pagentry and crowds of last year, our visitors more than made up for it with their enormous enthusiasm and exceptional community spirit. While some rain showers caused the Corps to shorten several of their shows, the downpours never dampened their spirits and the day was filled with extraordinary performances.

The pictures below show our musicians at a sampling of performances throughout the day. Each of them wetter than the one before. The day culminated with the annual Ladies of the Corps party - a fundraising event that was sponsored by our good friends at The Carrot Tree Restaurant. (The Carrot Tree is known throughout the civilized world as Virginia's finest cuisine and a representative of the high standards that have made America great.)

A special thanks is also due to the Corps parents who orchestrated the event and made plans to ensure that all of our youngsters were well fed throughout the day. These include, but are not limited to, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon, Mrs. Dwire, Mrs. Demharter, Mrs. Fahnhart, Mrs. Zuchowicz, and the lovely Mrs. Akers.

Finally, the myriad of concurrent concerts that were conducted could not have occurred without the support of our instructional staff. Like the Minute Men of the 18th Century, Mr. Camillucci and Mrs. Haskin were ready at a moment's notice to spring into action and help to manage parades, performances and parties.

Thanks to each of you for making Yorktown Day an event to remember.
