Yorktown Day
October 19, 2010

Excitement abounded throughout the historic town by the York River for the annual Yorktown Day festivities. Once again, the Fifes and Drums of York Town played a stellar role in remembering the Victory at Yorktown. They were seen throughout the day at various performances, including the DAR Coffee and memorial services at Thomas Nelson's grave and the French Memorial. The Corps were joined in the traditional Yorktown Day Parade by several other corps, including the President's own corps, The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, as well as many school and military bands and organizations. Some Corps members also participated in the beautiful pageant of flags at the Yorktown Monument. Back at Corps Headquarters for the annual fundraiser, the last performance of the day was followed by food and fun.
