Yorktown Day
October 19, 2014

The anniversary of the Victory at Yorktown of 1781 was celebrated on a beautiful Sunday this year. In the morning, the Fifes and Drums of York Town performed at the DAR Coffee and a small delegate performed at the memorial service at the Thomas Nelson gravesite behind historic Grace Church. Some of our Senior Corps also performed for the French Delegates at their wreath laying ceremony. Next, the Corps marched down Main Street in the traditional Yorktown Day Parade. Following the parade, several Corps members participated in the beautiful pageant of flags at the monument. The Corps then performed across the street from Corps Headquarters for the annual fundraiser. The day was made even more special with the addition of our Alumni Corps participating in several of the day's activities.
